Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about reporting fraud, protecting your identity, and using the Satark Defense Grid.

General Questions

What is Satark?
Satark is a community-driven defense grid designed to combat digital fraud. We verify suspicious phone numbers, UPI IDs, and links reported by citizens to prevent financial loss before it happens.
Is Satark free to use?
Yes! Reporting fraud and searching our database for threats is 100% free for all citizens. We are supported by community grants and law enforcement partnerships.

Reporting & Safety

Is my identity kept anonymous when I report?
Absolutely. We prioritize "Whistleblower Privacy". Your personal details are encrypted and never shared with the accused party. Only verified Law Enforcement Agencies can request access to reporter details for legal investigations.
What happens after I report a number?
1. The number is immediately flagged as "Suspicious" in our database.
2. If multiple users report the same number, it is upgraded to "High Risk".
3. Our API notifies partner banks and wallets to potentially block transactions related to that identifier.

API & Developer

Can I use Satark data in my own app?
Yes, we offer a public API for developers to check phone numbers and UPI IDs against our threat database. Please contact api@satark.org.in for documentation and keys.
